Putting The Old Crow on the Map

Sometimes all it takes is a quick visit to make a big difference. Simon, who seems to have a knack for spotting new defibs wherever he goes, recently noticed a brand new unit outside The Old Crow pub on Crow Lane in Henbury - but it hadn’t yet appeared on Defib Finder, meaning emergency services wouldn’t be able to direct 999 callers to it.

After popping in to chat with the team, it turned out they’d made a start on the registration but weren’t sure how to finish it. Within the hour, Simon had the defib successfully added to the national system - and it’s now fully visible to first responders and the public.

Simon has also offered to return and provide free CPR training for staff, helping to make the site even more ready should the worst ever happen. On top of that, he’ll now be supporting the landlord as a support guardian, offering ongoing advice and helping to keep the unit active and available around the clock.

Well done to the team at The Old Crow for taking the initiative to make their vital pub location safer and more accessible to the local community. Another important Bristol defib online — and another neighbourhood one step safer!
